Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning and philosophical basis of independent learning. The method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The data collection technique in this study was a literature study. The results of the study show that the philosophical meaning of independent learning is a thought process to seek and discover the potential that exists in students. The philosophical foundations of independent learning consist of progressivism, constructivism, humanism, and anthropological philosophy.
